The Ctrl+Esc exhibition features the work of FIU’s CARTA BFA Thesis 02 students for the spring semester 2025. It takes place at Laundromat Art Space in Miami from March 15 to 23. The exhibition showcases a diversity of artistic practices, including animation, sculpture, painting, and installation. Each artwork highlights the individual interests and experiences of the artists, reflecting a blend of personal and collective insights.
Ctrl+Esc represents a conclusive moment within the student’s artistic process, emphasizing the various narratives that emerge from their educational paths and cultural contexts. The exhibition illustrates the relationship between traditional and contemporary artistic approaches, allowing viewers to engage critically with the works on display. Attendees will witness how each artist navigates their chosen medium to explore significant themes of identity, memory, and the human experience. This exhibition encourages audience reflection and dialogue as they engage with the art, which shows the concerns of the young generation.
This event is organized by Sandra Ramos, Visiting Artist and Assistant Teaching Professor at FIU, and Ronald Sanchez, Director of Laundromat Art Space. The catalog records the exhibition and facilitates connections between our FIU artists and the Miami community. We want to acknowledge the support of Tori Arpad, Chair of the Art & Art History Department, the commitment of the CARTA faculty and staff, and the contributions of all students, particularly Luissana Cardenas, for her work on the poster design.
We invite you to join us for Ctrl+Esc, an exhibition that aims to foster understanding and appreciation of the role of art and education in shaping artistic expression.
